Designing Supplying Installing Maintaining Specialist Equipment Solutions

One of the best decisions we made on our project was transferring the specialist healthcare design elements to Innova.

As the project progressed, it became clear that the original design team did not have the specialist healthcare knowledge required to properly design and coordinate complex packages such as the hydro pool, hoist systems, bedheads, specialist baths and clinical sanitaryware. We were beginning to encounter technical concerns, coordination issues and uncertainty around how these systems would ultimately work together in practice.

From the outset, Joe and his team brought a level of expertise and confidence that immediately reassured us. Joe's leadership and understanding of healthcare environments, combined with the technical knowledge and collaborative approach of Elliot, Rami and Andy, transformed what had become a complicated and potentially risky area of the project into a well-coordinated and manageable process.

What stood out most was the ability of the team to look beyond individual packages and focus on how everything would work together operationally. Rather than dealing with multiple suppliers and designers, we had one team coordinating the interfaces between the hydro pool, hoists, specialist baths, bedheads and wider building systems. This simplified decision-making, improved communication and gave us confidence that the finished environment would function as intended for both patients and staff.

Throughout the process, Joe, Elliot, Rami and Andy have worked collaboratively with the wider design team, identifying issues early, proposing practical solutions and ensuring that specialist healthcare requirements were fully understood by all parties. Their involvement has made coordination significantly easier and has reduced the burden on us as the client.

Most importantly, the team never lost sight of the end users. Their focus on operational functionality, patient experience and staff usability has given us much greater confidence that the completed facility will deliver the outcomes we set out to achieve.

We had a very productive visit to the Innova showroom with Oscar and his mum and brother. Being able to try out the accessible kitchen and explore the bathroom and bedroom setups made a real difference in helping the family visualise and plan for the major adaptations to their new property.

I have worked with Almanzo for some years in sorting out new beds for my ward. We have narrow doorways and therefore are limited in the width of equipment and Innova was able to source me appropriate beds where other companies could not help. Corporate purchases are always lengthy but Almanzo kept me up to date with availability and delivery dates.
It was also good to be able to get our own branding put on the end of the bed. It was a professional detail that I appreciated.

St Christopher’s has been working with Innova, as the lead contractor for the refurbishment of our 32 bed in-patient unit. This is an important project for St Christopher’s so that we can address essential infrastructure issues on our inpatient unit, as well to improve the personalised care that we give for our patients. The work is all being delivered while keeping parts of our in-patient unit open at all times.

In working with Innova, I have found all members of the team to be professional and expert. The process to finalise scope and to deliver the programme has been genuinely collaborative, with a focus on how we deliver the best outcome for our patents and nurses with the budget available. I have also appreciated the consideration that Innova have shown to our staff, visitors, and patients so that we have been able to minimise disruption as much as practical. Thank you!
