We’re excited to announce our second InnovaLive training event is now available to book!
“Reaching client goals with power wheelchairs – An evidence-based approach to power seat & standing functions.”
Following the success of our first virtual CPD on hoists and hydrotherapy pools, this time we’re turning our attention to power wheelchairs.
Ramsey Hulbert, our in-house specialist, will be delivering the session alongside Arne Compernolle, Clinical & Training Manager for Permobil EMEA.
Unfortunately, this webinar has passed. The virtual event took place on Thursday the 17th of September, 3pm — 4pm.
We have tailored the webinar content to occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and case managers.
There is a strong focus on the evidence supporting power wheelchair provision — from both academic research and client case studies.
We’ll be looking at the functional and clinical benefits associated with powerchair functions. There will be lots of takeaways clinicians can apply to help improve client outcomes and reach their goals.
There are 3 key learning outcomes:
Ahead of the webinar, Ramsey explained why this is such an important topic:
“I’ve worked on posture management and wheelchair specifications for over 15 years. Power wheelchairs are great because there are so many ways you can customise them to suit individual users.
Combining different components and functions lets you adapt the chair to help clients reach their goals. You can continually make changes as their needs change. Newer innovations, like standing functions, have taken what you can achieve for mobility status, participation, and quality of life to the next level. I’m looking forward to sharing some of our clients’ experiences.”
At the end of this session, there will be a Q&A where you can ask any questions and learn more about the topics you were most interested in!
As the webinar is supported by Permobil themselves, feel free to ask more about specific powerchair models. Both speakers will be able to advise on which functions they offer.
We’ve worked with Permobil for a number of years. Now, we almost exclusively supply their power wheelchairs. That’s down to the benefits we’ve seen for our clients!
This session is all about supporting a more comfortable and independent life for powerchair users. So, we’ll be more than happy to help wherever we can.
