Overview

Frederick Holmes School, dedicated to supporting students with severe physical and learning disabilities, sought to enhance their facilities through a new-build project aimed at fostering independence and dignity for their pupils. In 2012, Innova Care Concepts was engaged to deliver state-of-the-art hoisting systems to meet these needs.

The challenge was to design a system that would improve accessibility while respecting students’ dignity. This involved installing subtle hoist systems throughout classrooms, hygiene rooms, and the hydrotherapy pool. With a budget of £100,000, we provided 32 X-Y hoisting systems and 32 Robin hoist units, ensuring ease of use for both students and staff.

Our commitment to flexibility and user experience, including a trial phase of our hoist units, led to the successful implementation of a system that significantly enhanced the school’s supportive environment. Frederick Holmes School now benefits from improved accessibility and independence for its students, reflecting their values of respect and positive attitudes.
