After facing increased demand for hospice care in the local area, St Andrews invested £9 million in a refurbishment project, including a brand new inpatient unit. This 30-bed facility needed to be as comfortable and relaxing as possible for patients and their families, whilst also allowing staff to deliver quality palliative care without feeling too clinical. The aim was to give patients the ultimate level of comfort and the best quality of life for their time at the hospice.
JDDK Architects contacted us to see what we could offer, and we immediately knew exactly what was needed to achieve the goal. Our Integralift hidden hoist systems were designed to provide subtle patient transfer capabilities without detracting from the cosiness of the surrounding environment. The hospice was impressed with the subtlety of the design, which ultimately led them to choose Innova to help with their project.
The hospice specifically wanted to ensure that the new Integralift units were colour-coordinated with their signature colours. Our interior design team found the perfect matches that blended in seamlessly with the rest of the hospice’s furniture. We supplied and fitted 28 Integralift hoists, 30 made-to-measure bedhead units, 30 bedside cabinets, 105 bespoke fitted wardrobes, and 3 overhead ceiling hoists, along with a range of chairs, tables, and soft furnishings.
“I have had amazing feedback from our patients and visitors to the Hospice since we reopened, and they think that the quality and style of our furnishings are ‘like a five-star hotel’ — this has been said on many occasions!
“I have no issue with recommending the Innova team to anyone considering buying furniture or equipment from them.”
